Spring is here, the weather has been fabulous, my bump looks big, and I've just eaten some yummy fruity french toast (jamie oliver's recipe).

Maisy paints a picture of me, when she gets excited she has to do a little dance on the spot, so she kept stoping and doing her dance, paintbrush still in her hand, before running back in and doing a little more.
Baking peanut cookies, secret cookies, I managed to bake and eat them without any help, which does sound a little selfish, but when most baking is done with and for the little people, sometimes there can be a few treats just for me.

Happy Easter
Last week Poppy joined Joel and I for a cuddle on the couch "we're a sandwich, you're the ham mummy,' said Pops, then a little voice from across the room pipes up as Maisy dashes towards us... "Here comes the cheese!"

new dresses

Summer is a bit hit and miss with random days of sunshine, alot of rain, have seen quite a bit of the local fox, but he always seems to know if you have your camera out. Poppy's started swearing at the wasps, so had a little chat about what words are not so nice to use. And Maisys talking more and more fluently every day telling me she was "Enjoyin it" when I asked her if she liked her lunch today. She is 2 now and is still singing "birthday to you" while she's playing around the house.
I am knitting a lot and planning who is getting what made for them for christmas. Feeling frustrated and wishing our house would sell, (2yrs and counting).

Baby Mia

Baby Mia
Originally uploaded by clothkids
My oldest friend Jamey, and her little girl Mia, taken by my Mum and emailed to me, as I haven't got to see her yet.
Just the thought of her is making me feel broody, odd as I am totally tired from daughter number one having a hissy fit between 3 and 4 am last night, and this time last year I had yet to have a full night sleep with Maisy, who held out until she was 13 months before sleeping through.

We drove to a field Joel had seen full of poppies, we walked down the dirt track but only a few poppies were still in flower. Poppy brought some "friends" with her, and wore her new gold shoes she picked herself! not quite my style, but they manage to look quite cool with some outfits. The light was real strange, just as we headed back to the car there was a huge downpour, which only last a couple of minutes.
Maisy and Daddy coming over the hill, on our way back to the car.
This is right where we live, and was our early walk, we got back home by 9.30am, which may not count as early to you, but for Joel it certainly was. Joel had the camera and would let me have it as they wandered off hand in hand, I was desperate and kept telling to take the shot. However I edited them when we got home, cropped this one so they were in the corner, and faded the colour a little to give that old style look, then I saw he'd uploaded it to a photography site and taken full credit the cheeky so & so.
Memories are made of this, and seeing as we probably won't have any pictures of me screaming at them to pick up the blasted marbles, hopefully it will be these moment we all remember.

Maisy eyes up the raspberries at my Dads, her hair is getting longer and curlier after having been so short and neat for so long.
A little post paddling pool cuddle with Rachel, my step mum.
Poppy all big brown eyes and fluffy hair.
Mmmm, raspberries.
Gabriel my little brother,
It was hard to drag her away from the raspberries once she had discovered the joys of a food supply you can help yourself to, I am surprised she didn't get a tummy ache.

Clover, Poppies, Buttercups, Herb Robert, Daisies, Scarlet Pimpernel, and some big blue bell flowers.
Bringing the flower fairies alive, a little beetle walks on buy.
Poppies grown for Poppy, silk petals on the breeze, little seeds.
Maybe Poppy will find the book when she is older and will remember days in the garden with her mummy, looking in her flower fairies book, and making collection of things as the days go by.
Poppy lays the flowers in the fairies hands,
Then we make a little headdress, for a real Poppy fairy.
Chronicles for http://frokenskicklig.blogspot.com/ and the Rose fairy.

I need purple nail polish

Yes I broke my foot and then I posted a couple of pictures over at flickr, and in less than 24hrs I had over 130 views, lets put that into context, one of my other shot that has had a similar number of views has accumulated them over about 5 months. So I am think there are some people out there with a serious foot thing going on. Not sure what to make of it really. Glad I buffed and polished them though.

I didnt even fall, I just went over on my ankle, I thought "that made a nice clicking sound." but on reflection that was probably the sound of my bone snapping! Very glad they took this super heavy plaster cast off today and I now have a light and purple one in its place. Now I have to keep Maisy off what must look like an ideal saddle to perch on for "horsey, horsey."
This will be a nice way to remember it, with Poppy's doodles and a damsel fly resting upon it.

Caught you

Maisy likes to sit in water, be it a puddle, stream or sea, fully clothed if necessary, so lots of catching need to happen if dry(ish) clothes are required.

An attempt to stop them digging up the plant, I got a tyre from the farm, cleaned it , painted it dug out a hole to set it in, lined it with weed suppressant membrane, and tipped in 4 bags of sand. Its been a big hit. now I just have to get used to sand everywhere!
